Napoli, Italy

Looking back years from now I will only have one vision in my mind of Naples.  The tight streets of the spanish quarter shown in the images above.  I have never seen so much crap hanging from balconies- signs, laundry, hand-rigged tarps, flags, etc, not to mention the italian women yelling across the way to the other women on the balconies across the street.  What at first seems to be so much chaos actually becomes a character that I have yet to find in any other city.  Dave made us do a sketching assignment comparing the street section of one of these streets compared to that of the Galeria Umberto.  What a great assignment! I have never before understood how much people and their living can really change a space.
